Temple Youth Celebration

A BEACON TO THE WORLD!

...are you ready?

On May 2nd, 2010 the Vancouver Temple will be dedicated by the prophet of the Lord! In celebration of this great event, youth from around the province and Bellingham have been asked to perform a cultural event that tells the secular and spiritual history of this area. The script has been written, the music composed, the dances choreographed, and the costumes sewn. We now invite all youth in the Vancouver Temple District to come and join us in performing "A Beacon to the World".

CLARIFICATION FOR PARENTS

Hello Parents!
We are getting lots of questions so here are lots of answers!

If your son/daughter is in the choir they do not need to learn the stake dance number. They DO need to attend stake rehearsal, that is when they will review choir numbers. Choir youth need to be practicing REGULARLY at home with their mp3's from the blog.

If your son/daughter has been selected to dance in the multicultural segment, sing a solo or bedtrack, or act in one of the acting scenes they STILL dance in their stake number.

Youth will be given two complimentary tickets (for you) for the show. They DO NOT need to go on the website on March 15th to sign up for tickets for you. They DO need to sign up for complimentary tickets here on the blog at complimentary tickets.

An updated "WHAT YOUTH SHOULD BRING TO THE CONFERENCE" supply list will be posted on the blog in April.

There WILL be a children's choir selected from the 8-11 year old siblings of the youth in the Lower mainland and Bellingham. This is for two reasons. ONE, the logistics of picking up and dropping off children throughout the three day conference and TWO using siblings means the same set of parents gets the same set of complimentary tickets (venue seats are in short supply). This will be a lottery. Names will be pulled from a hat.

Thanks parents for all your support!
